Marsh Flats by Bob Glennan

March 2019 - Marsh Flats

About the Image(s)

This is an area of Southern New Jersey that had interested me. I know that different timing such as evening or sunrise would dramatically change this image. However, as it stands, I am unsure of a salvage as it exists.

Canon Powershot SX710; f/8; 1/320; ISO 100

All set manually, no filters of course. This is the original image, no changes made.

Bob: to my eyes, everything has a very soft focus whereas the foreground plants should probably be in sharp focus. Further, there is no central point of interest. Maybe a sunset in the background may have provided a little more interest and color.   Posted: 03/12/2019 15:59:32

These are very interesting marsh reeds but unfortunately they are extremely difficult to get tack sharp. I have to agree that it is a bit unclear what the subject is in the image. Would also recommend enhancing the reeds so that they stand out a bit more from the background.   Posted: 03/13/2019 12:08:05

Bob, to me since there is no dramatic light and no point that leads me in, I believe I would try to do some processing perhaps the graduated tool if you use Lightroom. I think there are numerous tools that you could use to give more dimension to the image you want to save.   Posted: 03/22/2019 16:00:42
