June 2018 - Hurry leaving

About the Image(s)

Last time I stopped in Beijing, I visited Heaven Temple. I saw this lady walking fast along the wall, I captured her in hurry. I am lucky.
My setting: Mode S. S125. Focal lens :70mm. Nikon lens 70-200mm. Hope I receive comments helping me better. Thanks all og you.

Hung, you have nicely isolated the lady. For me the top right and left corners are disturbing. I tried to crop the image keeping the lady in one third position. I also cleaned up the wall a bit.
I wanted to convert it into mono but my laptop kept crashing (don't know why!)   Posted: 06/07/2018 04:59:47

Hung, I think that you have done a great capture of the motion of the woman and the emphasis of how large this wall is. Although Malabika's crop is good in emphasizing the woman as the center of interest, I think it looses the historical value of the architecture, which obviously is ancient. The shot, to me, appears to be sharp with good diagonal lines. I would not change a thing because I feel you have captured a piece of history here.   Posted: 06/07/2018 18:15:39

This is difficult to comment on because you're capturing a few things here: first the swiftly moving lady which tells one story, then, the beautiful marble wall which itself is a great image. I think I might have cropped this a bit to include both the lady and some of the entire wall. I would have cropped it a little tighter behind the lady and a few inches in front of her, but include the entire wall in the cropping. Very nice tonality overall.   Posted: 06/08/2018 15:56:58

Nice capture, Hung. The hurrying lady is looking down (unfortunately) but I understand why - the rough terrain. My suggested improvements are to remove the right-hand column with its distracting brown stain and removal of the red area top left. That puts the lady exactly at the 1/3 mark horizontally. I tried the image in black and white but the color image looks better. Good work.   Posted: 06/09/2018 09:19:51

The impression that the women is purposefully going somewhere is striking and beautiful. I agree with Harry's change but would just lighten or clone out the dark spot at the top of the column, possibly to preserve the historical pillar.   Posted: 06/13/2018 15:30:41
