Pop Creek by Sharon Moir

October 2020 - Pop Creek

About the Image(s)

Crossing creek in early spring in Harriman state park. I liked the white water but was taken by the barren brown woods stretching into the background. Some cropping left and top. Some lightening overall and further lightening of the shadows. Done with iphone.

This captures a feel of winter. The lighting is so flat, I might increase contrast or dehaze just a tad. Composition is nice and leads the eye into the frame.   Posted: 10/15/2020 14:10:31

Depth of field is excellent. I'm always amazed what those little lenses do.
Another rendition, cropped and enhanced with the magic wand.   Posted: 10/19/2020 18:57:44

I think the composition works well with the stream running from the left side towards you. I might have cropped off all of the sky to make the stream fill 2/3 of the image.   Posted: 10/19/2020 19:12:40

Dennis makes a good point about cropping the sky. That would bring the eye to the water which is the main point of interest, I think. It was good to have a camera in your pocket that day.   Posted: 10/22/2020 15:59:51
