About the Image(s)

I saw this spider wrapping up a grasshopper that was caught in it's web one day. The next day it was gone but the spider was still there. I thought that I heard a little "burp". A day or two later, it was wrapping up another one. I don't think it is done yet it seems like there are a few more hopping around.I wasn't able to get the top of the spider because there wasn't enough room behind the web. I think it's called a garden spider but don't hold me to it.

Canon 7D, 100mm Macro, f/25.0, 1/160, ISO 640.

Great image and capture. Nice story picture. It's well positioned in the frame, sharp throughout and even some of the web is seen. The dark band behind the subject is perhaps a little distracting but there is little urgency to remove it.   Posted: 10/04/2020 14:11:46

Wow, nice shot. I agree about the band but not a deal breaker. Interesting how the spider was so meticulous about wrapping up his prey. Wonder if he/she stores these somewhere.   Posted: 10/15/2020 14:05:20

It is very perfect macro shot. All details can be seen including some part of web clearly. The predator and its prey interpret the meaning of nature of the life.   Posted: 10/17/2020 08:28:54

What a fascinating shot! Glad you said the spider was wrapping up the prey, I might not have known what was happening. Amazed you were able to get parts of the web. I agree as well about the band.   Posted: 10/17/2020 10:35:58

How did I get in this mess. The photo says it all! Possibly a little darker background.   Posted: 10/19/2020 18:32:03
