About the Image(s)

This was taken at the Scripps Aquarium in San Diego. I was fascinated by how ethereal it looked. Some cropping on the sides was done and I tried various sharpening methods but decided it was a waste. Camera was a Panasonic FZ200, ISO 1000, f2.8 at 1/60.

It does look like it's floating in Space. It tough to get good images in there since it's dark. Yours still has interest and punch despite being a bit soft.   Posted: 09/13/2020 15:10:16

A nice image and ethereal just like you saw it and brought that to the viewer. You mentioned sharpness so I gave it a try and sharpened in photos using contrast, exposure, definition, and sharpen. I came up with a lot of noise in the background and wondered how I was going to get rid of the noise with out using photoshop. Blackpoint worked which made the background darker.   Posted: 09/16/2020 14:32:18

The jellies are always beautiful and convey a sense of serenity. Love the colors captured. David's sharpening was good. It is very hard to get these tack sharp due to the low light and the glass, but still a beautiful image.   Posted: 09/17/2020 12:23:52

Well, I just had to make my attempt to sharpen it without the noise. I don't know if your shutter speed was too low but it looks like the floating things are blurred on the right side but it could be from distortion instead of motion. I would like to see all of the bottom of it. I really enjoyed seeing these things.   Posted: 09/17/2020 19:53:23

It is really beautiful image. I would like to suggest you to retouch a bit more with PS or Luminar or Topaz to belong to the best image as suggested by other colleagues.

Thank you for giving the good idea to photograph the Jellyfish in the Aquarium.   Posted: 09/17/2020 22:22:59
