About the Image(s)

This photo is a smew taken at the Bronx zoo. I liked the contrast of black and white with the reflection. It's been cropped and the shadows lighted some.

Nice reflection. Sharon, you live in NYC. What a great place for street photography. There is so much to see. I can image you are looking for nature, but I can't imagine passing up the scenes of the big city.   Posted: 01/06/2020 16:13:08

The eye is so important in this image that I think I'd lighten it some and add a touch of color. The white head of the bird stands out well. Was there more room in front? Poor thing seems a bit jammed in there.   Posted: 01/13/2020 08:02:16

Good shot! Sharon with a twinkle in the eye. The birds posture, expression is perfect. I thought I would resize to what I thought were the finer points of the photo. I was debating to leave the whole bird in the frame or not. I chose or not. Then resized to the symmetry of the feathers. I also used LR spot removal on the needles and leg.   Posted: 01/14/2020 20:52:38

Beautiful bird. I like the whole bird, with the foot under water, as it is all clear. I would remove the reddish things, as they distract. The expression is great! Almost flirtatious. Is this an east coast duck, or from somewhere more exotic?   Posted: 01/22/2020 11:15:14

This is a merganser which is usually found in northern Europe and Asia. The photo was taken at the Bronx Zoo. I have been working on the photo to remove some of those distractions and make the catch light just a little bigger.   Posted: 01/23/2020 07:56:09

I like the interesting position of the birds head. I would like a little more room showing especially in front of it. Removing the red sticks and probably the bright area at the bottom right corner is a good idea.   Posted: 01/25/2020 13:19:12

All details are very clear and sharp. The most attractive part is twinkle eye. Reflection in the water is amazing.   Posted: 01/25/2020 20:29:02
